2013 US Open: The Men’s Final Four

September 6, 2013 By grandslamgal

Review of the semi-finalists route through the 2013 US Open so far and their head-to-head record with their respective opponents. Semi-finals will be played Saturday 7 September.

The Final Four Men

Only one match away from the final there is no surprise about two of the semi-finalists; Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. But I don’t think many people predicted Richard Gasquet or Stanislas Wawrinka to make the final four.

While Djokovic and Nadal have 6 and 12 grand slam titles respectively, neither Gasquet or Wawrinka have reached a grand slam final.

Djokovic will play Wawrinka and Nadal will play Gasquet. Both Djokovic and Nadal have only dropped one set on the way to the semi-finals.

2013 is the first year that the Men’s Final is planned to be played on the Monday, so that the men get a rest day after the semi-finals (weather permitting). Notably, if Nadal wins the final, he’ll become World No.1.
