While Rafa, Roger, Novak, Andy, Robin and the rest of the boys slog it out in Rome this week to get ready for the French Open when it starts on Monday 23 May, this year there will also be a New Aussie Kid in Town at Roland Garros.
Every year, Longines and brand ambassador Andre Agassi run a global search to find the rising stars of tennis.
This year, 12 year-old Melbourne boy Chase Ferguson has been chosen as Tennis Australia’s representative at the Longines Future Tennis Aces tournament at Roland Garros.
Chase will be leaving next week to embark on a six week competition and if he wins the Longines Challenge he gets to play against Andre Agassi. Pretty cool huh!
And he loves clay:
This will be my first trip to Europe so it’s pretty awesome to think that I’ll be playing at Roland Garros, especially while the French Open is on.
Clay is my favourite surface and I really enjoy sliding to get to the ball and the different movement. I can’t wait to have the experience of playing on the French Open clay.

Bonne chance Chase.
Until next time
