To celebrate Rafa being back in Monte Carlo and trying for his eighth straight win there, I’m sharing this poem.
It was written by the incredibly talented @Vibhuism, a huge Federer fan who plays an instrumental role in the www.rogerfedererfans.com website (which makes it extra awesome that he took the time to write this poem about Rafa for me).
Vamos Rafa!
Tennis Fans the world over with their full spirit,
Will always off their hats to Rafa’s Grit.
Born in the year of Nineteen eighty six,
His determination always puts everyone in a fix….
Brought up in the small town of Manacor,
His first childhood sport was Soccer.
But with his hard work & determination,
And with Uncle Toni’s able guidance, thankfully Tennis became his true Passion…
At the young age of 15 he turned Pro,
His first ATP victory was against Ramon Delgado.
He first defeated Roger in 2004 at Miami’s court,
As all of us realized, Rafa has arrived at this great sport…..
His biggest strength is his agility,
As he works ruthlessly hard to keep up his ability.
His athleticism on court is unmatchable,
His tenacious court coverage is unimaginable…….
His ground strokes are embedded with Top Spin magic,
His consistency makes every Fan’s heart dance with music.
His willingness to chase down every ball proves his brilliance,
His never say die fighting spirit even in utmost pain shows his true resilience…
Completing the career Grand Slam at the age of twenty four,
Has never been achieved at this young age ever before.
His winning streak of 81 matches on clay,
Is written in golden words for every one’s display…….
An asteroid named after him will eternally show his true magnificence,
History books will always have stories of his elegance.
Three time winner of ATP Golden Bagel award,
Prestigious Asturias & Laureus world sportsman of the year are his perseverance’s reward..
He has already marked his fate in the Hall Of Fame,
Wishing him health, success & achievement of more aims…..
Vamos Rafa & Of course Roger!
Until next time

I owe this poem to the brilliant IF poem by Rudyard Kipling.
While writing this poem, continuously for those 4-5 hours,
IF narrated by Roger & Rafa for that commercial during 2008
Wimbledon was on repeat.
So, if any one likes reading this, give the due credit to
The magical voice ‘s of Roger & Rafa & of course, the
Great & Legendary Rudyard KIPLING :).
