ATP Top 100 Rankings: Which Players Improved the Most in 2012

Want to know which players had a good year in 2012? Find out which players moved up the rankings substantially at the end of the 2012 season compared to a year ago.

Players Who Entered the Top 50

Thirteen players made it in to the 2012 season’s end top 50 compared to where they finished in 2011.

The first number is their end-of-year ranking and the number in brackets is their ranking at the end of 2011.

26. Jerzy Janowicz POL (221)

30. Martin Klizan SVK (117)

32. Jeremy Chardy FRA (103)

35. Julien Benneteau FRA (52)

41. Jarkko Nieminen FIN (77)

46. David Goffin BEL (174)

47. Benoit Paire FRA (95)

For the 13 players listed above it was an average increase of 85 places. Although this is affected by the improvements made by Haas (184 places), Janowicz (195 places), David Goffin (128 places) and Matosevic (154 places and now Australian number 1).

Keep an eye on these players in 2013.

High Performers Ranked 50-100

In addition to the four players mentioned above who rose by at least 100 places to enter the top 50 a further 7 players finished the season ranked 50-100 after producing similar ranking improvements.

    Janowicz and Klizan are two that I’ll be watching out for in 2013. Hopefully Goffin will continue to progress as I enjoyed his match against Federer at the French Open.
