The Hopman Cup Starts Saturday 29 January

Dates: 29 December 2012 to 5 January 2013

Teams: Serbia (top seeds), Australia (Ash Barty replaces Casey Dellacqua), Italy, Germany, France, South Africa, Spain, USA

2012 Winners, the Czech Republic, aren’t playing in 2013.

Hopman Cup Schedule for 29 December 

Day Session

10am Perth time: Spain v South Africa

Night Session

5.45 pm Perth time: Germany v Australia

This year the Hopman Cup will be played for the first time at the new Perth Arena, which has a retractable roof.

It’s predicted to be 41 degrees C for the first two days of the tournament so they may need to invoke the extreme heat policy and close the roof.

The Brisbane International starts on Sunday 30 December 2012.  The draw will be done late morning on Saturday (Brisbane time)

The Australian reports that the AAMI Classic are holding a place for Rafael Nadal, should wish to play.
