Angie won a tough match against Serena to claim her first grand slam title. With the win she’ll move up to World No.2 in the WTA Rankings.
Serena, who was playing to win her 22nd grand slam title, showed what a true champion she is by coming around the net to give Angie a hug straight after match point. During the speeches she congratulated Angie and said “I’m so happy for you”. During Angie’s speech she then congratulated Serena back, saying “you are an unbelievably great person”.
