Dolgopolov chucks snag on barbie, not a hair out of place

January 25, 2011 By grandslamgal

Alexandr Dolgopolov beat Robin Soderling in 5 sets on Monday to go through the quarter finals of the 2011 Australian Open.  It was a huge upset, especially for people like me who had Soderling as captain of their online tennis dream team.

For a great summary of the match read Dolgopolove.

Clearly Dolgopolov worked up an hefty appetite.

I mean, those sausages are huge.

And although it may appear that Dolgopolov’s hair is tied back to comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, that is actually his tennis playing hair style.

When a sweat band, sun visa or backwards cap just won’t do, Dolgopolov reaches for one of those zig zaggy type hair bands often seen at the $2 shop.

I believe it’s more secure.

Check out the pic in this article to see said same hair band on Becks. A beautiful man who should never have gone there.

Dolgopolov played Andy Murray in the quarter final and lost in 4 sets.  It was fantastic match to watch though. True entertainment.

I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of Dolgopolov and his hair band.

Until next time,
