It was great to see Federer’s 4th round match against Goffin on Court Suzanne Lenglen at the French Open. Here are my best pics.
Roger Federer defeated David Goffin 5-7, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4. Goffin from Belgium has had an amazing run to reach the 4th round, especially given that this is his first grand slam tournament. He gained a “lucky loser” place through qualifying, then defeated Stepanek in 5 sets in round 1, Clement in 5 sets in round 2 and Kubot in 3 sets in round 3.
Goffin’s current ranking is 109 but that should improve now.
Keep an eye out for Goffin in future, he held his own incredibly well against Federer and had great support from the crowd, at one point during the second set I even thought it was possible that he might win.
