By winning Monte Carlo last year, Rafa become the first ATP player to win a title for seven consecutive years. Given that his last title was the French Open, Rafa has got to be hungry to win Monte Carlo and cement his place as the king of clay. Novak Djokovic didn’t play Monte Carlo last year due to a knee injury. If Rafa and Nole meet, it will be in the final. Can Nole follow up his six wins in finals against Rafa last year, plus the epic Australia Final 2012 final, with a win in Monte Carlo?
Federer and Fish aren’t in the mix but the other men from the top ten are. Djokovic could potentially play Ferrer in the quarter finals and Murray in the semis. While Rafa potentially faces Almagro in the quarter finals and Tsonga in the semis.
