Draw

The draw will be held on Thursday 26 July.

Schedule of Play

The Olympics tennis event runs from 28 July to 5 August.

Play starts at 11.30am BST from 28 July until 2 August and 12pm from 3 to 5 August.

Singles Format

  • All matches are best of three sets except for the men’s final which is best of five sets
  • Each set is a tiebreak except for the final set
  • The tournament is a knockout format
  • There are 64 players in the singles draw, with entry to a maximum of four players from each country
  • There are three rounds and then the quarter finals, semi finals and final
  • 16 players are seeded, based on the world rankings.

    Good chance of a Wimbledon repeat with Serena and Roger taking out the singles titles. Plus they might both double up with gold in the respective doubles too!
