Schedule of Play
The Olympics tennis event runs from 28 July to 5 August.
Play starts at 11.30am BST from 28 July until 2 August and 12pm from 3 to 5 August.
Singles Format
- All matches are best of three sets except for the men’s final which is best of five sets
- Each set is a tiebreak except for the final set
- The tournament is a knockout format
- There are 64 players in the singles draw, with entry to a maximum of four players from each country
- There are three rounds and then the quarter finals, semi finals and final
- 16 players are seeded, based on the world rankings.
