The Perth Arena is new home of the Hopman Cup.
The cost of the project is expected to be $548.7 million, a little more than the original budget of $160 million.
Seating at least 12,500 people
The new venue is bigger than the past venue, the Burswood Dome, which seats 8,000 for tennis. The Perth Arena will seat at least 12,500 so more people will be able to get tickets to this fabulous boutique tennis tournament.
A Retractable Roof
While the Hopman Cup is currently an indoor tournament, having the retractable roof means it will be played in outdoor conditions, similar to those of the Australian Open. It also means that if it rains or gets too hot, the roof can be closed so that play can continue.
Located in the Perth CBD
The new location is in the Perth CBD so visitors to Perth for the event will be able to walk from a city hotel. For those coming from further away, it’s a short walk from Perth train station and has parking for 680 cars.
The new venue makes the Hopman Cup even bigger and better.
