Find out more about the Australian Open Practice Courts viewing deck which is new for 2013.
Also read another article to find out where the Practice Courts are located and where to find the Practice Schedule.
The Practice Courts Viewing Deck
Below are some pics of new viewing deck. Also new, the practice courts schedule added to both the Australian Open website and signs around the grounds.
It’s great to be able to get relatively close to your favourite players while they are practicing and get an opportunity for autographs and pics at the end of the session. Having the schedule available means you can plan to be there at the right time. The courts are located between Hisense and Rod Laver Arenas so you don’t need to walk miles to get to them.
The crowd was three deep to watch Djokovic practicing on Tuesday so if the player is popular and you want front row, get there before the scheduled time.
On the downside, I went to watch a Tomic v Monfils practice session on Tuesday night and neither player showed up. I’m not sure how often this happens but I’m aiming to go to more practice sessions on Sunday and Monday so I can get more intel.
The Fan Test Rating Scale
- Ace – The highest possible rating
- Winner – Good but could be slightly improved
- Deuce – Neutral, neither good nor bad
- Fault – The item is lacking in some way.
