I’ve been planning my fan grand slam slam for a long time.
I’ve been planning it in my head for at least 12 years.
I’ve been planning the logistics for at least 4 years.
I’ve been writing about it on this blog for over a year.
Ballboy2012 has been incredibly supportive in helping me get the plans together.
And now, we’re here.
On 1 January 2012 the Grand Slam plan begins.
Hopman Cup
We start the Grand Slam plan in Perth with the Hopman Cup. We’ve got series tickets so we’ll be there as much as possible (or, based on reports that I’ve heard, as much as we can stand the heat!).
Check out the Hopman Cup’s All Star Line Up.
Australian Open
After the Hopman Cup finishes on 7 January, we’ll be back in Melbourne, watching the Sydney APIA International on TV and most likely heading to the AAMI Classic and Australian Open qualifying matches for a day or two the week before the Australian Open starts. Then, of course, going to the Australian Open as much as possible.
Find out which men are playing where in the lead up to the Australian Open.
French Open and Wimbledon
In mid May we head to the UK where we’ll be based to travel to Paris for the French Open and London for Wimbledon.
US Open
We come back to Melbourne mid July then leave for the USA mid August for the US Open. Prior to the US Open in New York we’re visiting Boston and afterwards we’ll spend a few days in Dallas before flying home.
Dates and details of 2012 Grand Slam events.
We love meeting new people, especially tennis fans. So if you’re in or around any of the cities that we’ll be visiting during the Grand Slam year, and you’d like to catch up, tweet and let me know!
I’ll be blogging way more often in 2012 so if you’re subscribed, please expect to receive more emails.
And you’d like to follow the journey, you’re welcome to sign up for email updates, and get connected on Twitter or Facebook.
Now, it is time. The Fan Grand Slam begins.
