Free things to do in New York: Walk the High Line

September 4, 2012 By grandslamgal

The High Line gives you a great view of New York…and it’s free.

It’s an old train line that has been turned in to an elevated public park.

The High Line has a well maintained walking track with lots of greenery either side and because you’re up high, there are great views of the city and local art work.

Food outlets and market stalls are available near the 14th Street entry point. It’s not a very long walk but there are plenty of chairs and patches of grass if you want to stop for lunch or enjoy a coffee break.

Find out more on the High Line website, including how to get access.

I highly recommend walking the High Line in New York if you have time while you’re not watching tennis!

Until next time

Great place to get respite from the hustle and bustle of NYC.
