Review of the lead up tournaments to 2013 US Open

August 23, 2013 By grandslamgal

Review of the hard court ATP and WTA tournaments in July and August 2013 leading up to the 2013 US Open.

The Emirates US Open Series

The ATP and WTA hard court tournaments held in North America during July and August make up the Emirates US Open Series. In addition to tournament prize money and standard ATP/WTA rankings points, players also compete for US Open Series points.

At the culmination of the US Open Series tournaments the three men and women players who accumulated the most points earn bonus prize money for each round of the 2013 US Open they play.

The bonus rises to $1million for the winner of the US Open Series if they win the US Open.

Good run of results for John Isner this hard court season. Maybe he’ll carry this over to the 2013 US Open, although he’s got a potentially tough draw.
