Free things to do in New York: Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge

September 9, 2012 By grandslamgal

Walk across Brooklyn Bridge and get great views of the city, plus great ice cream.

A walk or bike ride across the Brooklyn Bridge is one of New York’s must-dos.

Find out how to get there and other details in this article from About.com

The bridge itself is like a work of art

On the Brooklyn side, stop at the Brooklyn ice Cream Factory for an ice cream or a shake. They’re worth queuing up for!

We walked across the Williamsburg Bridge from Manhattan, walked through Williamsburg and then got the Ferry to the Brooklyn Bridge and walked back across to Manhattan.

Williamsburg has lots of great looking cafes and bars where you could stop for refreshments along the way.

Also have a look at pics from the High Line, which is another great place to walk along in New York.

Until next time

Another free activity is looking out for movies and tv shows filming on location. I saw James McAvoy working on a new movie in the East Village.
