As the only lead-up event held in Melbourne and taking place immediately prior to the Australian Open, the AAMI Classic is the easiest tournament to add to your Australian Open itinerary. Situated in the suburb of Kooyong, the venue is easy to reach by train. The journey from central Melbourne to Kooyong station, which is opposite the venue, takes about 20 minutes.

The AAMI Classic is an invitational event featuring 8 top players. It can also feature additional top players in exhibition/practice matches.

In 2014 Tuesday 7 January is a free Fan Day at the AAMI Classic. Note that you have to register for the tickets, which can be done here. While under 16’s get free entry on Friday 10 January on Kids Day.
